Working closely with SUT, we evolved both the brand and digital platform to create a fully connected ecosystem built around how the organisation operates. Transforming a 60-year institution through integrated digital infrastructure

With more than six decades of heritage, SUT had built a respected reputation within its sector, but its brand and digital infrastructure no longer reflected the scale, professionalism, or operational complexity of the organisation as it continued to evolve.

The existing website lacked flexibility, member functionality, and integration. Key processes were spread across disconnected systems, creating friction for both users and internal teams. Membership management, event bookings, communications, and transactions all relied on separate workflows, resulting in an inefficient, increasingly difficult-to-scale experience.

SUT did not need a cosmetic refresh. It needed a connected digital ecosystem built around how the organisation actually operates.

 


The challenge

The objective was to modernise both the SUT brand and digital platform while creating a more connected experience for members and internal teams alike. Alongside refining the visual identity and improving clarity across the organisation’s communications, the platform itself needed to support a wide range of operational functionality.

This included centralising memberships, event bookings, payments, communications, and customer data into one connected system, while eliminating reliance on disconnected third-party tools and outdated workflows. The new platform also needed to remain familiar and accessible for an established membership base, balancing modernisation with continuity.

 


What We Delivered

The project began with a full brand and strategy workshop, allowing us to define the structure, functionality, and wider digital direction of the platform. Through this process, we developed a refined visual identity, updated typography and colour systems, clearer content hierarchy, and a more structured digital experience designed to better reflect the organisation today.

Alongside the rebrand, we designed and developed a fully bespoke website and member platform tailored specifically to SUT’s operational requirements.

At the centre of the platform sits a fully API integrated Agilebase database system, creating a seamless connection between the website, member portal, and internal operational infrastructure. Through this integration, member records, membership renewals, event bookings, ticketing, payments, communications, and account management are all synchronised through one connected ecosystem.

The member portal itself was custom built around the needs identified during the workshop phase, allowing users to renew memberships, manage account information, access messages, view upcoming events, purchase tickets, and interact with the organisation through a significantly more streamlined experience.

Every aspect of the platform was designed specifically to support how SUT functions day to day, ensuring that both the user experience and internal management processes feel intuitive, connected, and scalable.

Through API integration with AgileBase, we synchronised:

  • Customer records

  • Event creation and management

  • Pricing structures

  • Order processing and automated confirmations

  • Many more business-critical functions.

Payments are now fully integrated, providing secure, seamless transaction handling directly within the platform and communicating back to their internal database systems.

The result is a unified system in which the website, database, and payment gateway operate as a single, connected ecosystem.

Manual workflows were removed. Third-party dependency was eliminated. Administrative overhead was significantly reduced.


Brand & Strategic Positioning

Alongside the platform build, we evolved the wider SUT brand to create a more modern, professional digital presence while maintaining the organisation’s credibility and familiarity.

The updated identity introduced a clearer visual language, improved structure across communications, and a more cohesive system that could scale consistently across both digital and print environments. Combined with the new website platform, the result is a significantly more aligned and future-facing brand experience.

Across an 8-month programme — from initial brand workshop to public launch — we evolved SUT’s identity:

  • Logo refinement

  • Defined visual language

  • Clear messaging hierarchy

  • Structured tone of voice

  • Image style and editing

Keyword research and competitor analysis shaped the content strategy, improving search visibility and strengthening sector positioning.


The outcome

The new platform now serves as the digital centre of the organisation, supporting both members and internal teams through a single, fully connected system.
